Governor Ralph Northam, despite calling for gun reform following the deadly shooting in North Virginia, has reportedly called state senate majority leader Thomas Norment to kill two newly proposed bills that could help reform the gun laws of Virginia.
“I couldn’t let him silence the people of Virginia,” Norment told MSNBC “I have informed the Minority Leader of the incident and hopefully we can work together to stop the Governor from trying to kill reform he called for.”
Many people are still calling for state separation with state senator Barbara Favola of Arlington, Fairfax, and Loudoun announcing that she’ll support an amendment to the Virginian constitution to make North Virginia an autonomous region of the state until the federal government can separate the two. Barbara made an three-hour speech calling for state separation with families of the victims also making short speeches with her.
More to come within the following hours.
