When the ‘NOVA Act’ first failed Congress, thousands of people rallied in Richmond calling for North Virginia to become its own state or autonomous supercounty in Virginia due to its economic and cultural importance form the rest of Virginia.
The Virginia state legislature passed the ‘Autonomous North Act’ which made North Virginia an autonomous supercounty with state separatist and state Senator Barbara Favola becoming the sub-Governor of the area.
Despite all of this, people continued to protest the failure of the NOVA Act. It finally went back up to vote due to public demand but failed. Causing the organization “Northern Virginian Rally” to rally long the autonomous state borders. Eventually counter protesters attacked them and led to another gun fight with 7 dead, 19 injured.
The President, however, called for the Army to be sent to declare “martial law” in the region. The region was already under an “state of emergency” put into place by Governor Northam.
Sub-Governor Favola has declared the state separation of Northern Virginia. Meaning that Virginians state legislators of that region won’t be attending and thus lowering the quorum needed. They all signed an state constitution and are petitioning for the President to remove martial law. Many even calling for his impeachment of such usage of the military to exercise an executive order on Americans.
The North Virginia Community Defense Forces has been deployed to defend theirselves against an Army occupation and due to how entranced they are, many speculate that it would be impossible to get through.
